Mr. Boo Edgar is a Venture
Director with California Technology Ventures,
LLC (CTV), bringing deep pharmaceutical,
biotech, and life science experience to
the team. He has worked in a variety of
capacities within the pharmaceutical industry.
His roles have included clinical pharmacology
and clinical research; project management;
product sales and marketing; business
re-organization and management; business
process development and implementation;
merger and integration; and R&D strategy
development.
Boo consulted with the pharmaceutical
company, Astra, coordinating a major reorganization
of the product R&D and commercialization
process to improve the efficiency and
competitiveness of the company. He later
played a key role in the merger between
Astra and Zeneca, focusing on the organizational
and business model development of the
new company. AstraZeneca
is one of the world's leading pharmaceutical
companies. Boo led a dedicated group to
support the head of R&D and senior
management team to evolve the business
model and R&D strategy.
Boo has invested in and led many startup ventures in Sweden. He was the president of A+ Science Invest AB, which was devoted to commercializing early-stage life science research to marketable products for large pharmaceutical and other companies. Part of the developed business idea was to form companies based on the inventions, manage these companies, and provide a management structure.
Boo received a Medical Science Doctorate in Clinical Pharmacology at the University of Gothenburg, Göteborg, Sweden and published more than 45 papers.
