Zareh Baghdasarian

Mr. Zareh Baghdasarian is a Venture Director with California Technology Ventures, LLC (CTV). Zareh brings technical and operational experience to the team, with a particular knowledge of data and telecommunication systems. Zareh has founded, built, and managed several engineering companies throughout his career and is currently the President and CEO of Tahoe Associates, a private investment entity. He is also an active member and advisor for several high technology startup technologies.

Zareh was the founder and CEO of the Iris Group, creating multiple engineering teams to develop optical products from the network core to the edge. He was also one of the founders of Monterey Networks, Inc., pioneering the industry’s first wavelength router. Cisco acquired Monterey in 1999 to fulfill its core optical networking strategy.

Prior to founding companies, Zareh was the VP of Engineering at Sourcecom, a General Manager of the Signaling Group at Ameritec, and a Manager at Tekelec. In these roles, Zareh managed large engineering and operational teams to develop award-winning products that have sustained market leadership over many years.

He was an active board member of Metera Networks, IRIS Labs, and Coree Networks.

Zarah holds a Masters degree in Engineering Management from Santa Clara University, an Executive Management degree from UCLA Graduate School of Management, and a BSEE from Villanova University.
